Hike “The Great Carrying Place” trail on July 4th

The public is welcome be at the Kennebec/Wyman trailhead at 9:00am for a discussion of the
site's historical significance to the founding of the United States. AEHS member, Steve Warren,
will be leading a hike of the Carry Ponds section of the Arnold Expedition Trail.
Hiking
to begin at 9:30 concluding at the Flagstaff Lake end at 1:00. The 12 mi. hike is optional
and is intended for experienced hikers. Visitors are welcome to join in a discussion of
the history and picnic following a presentation at the Long Falls Dam Road trailhead.
Interested participants should request further information here.

This map shows the roadside pull-out, which is the trailhead for starting the Great Carry.
