The Great Carrying Place Bog Bridge Effort, July 20, 2024
Your help is needed to install a section of Bog Bridging in a wet area east of East Carry Pond. We will meet at 8:00 AM at the turnout on the Carry Ponds Road, 12 miles north of the Bingham/Concord bridge and then drive to East Carry Pond. Volunteers will carry hemlock planks to the work area and build a bridge.
While the focus of the day is installing the bog bridging there is other trail work that is needed as well. If we have the volunteers and the time we will work on the Connector Trail that bypasses West Carry Pond. This includes: clearing the trail of encroaching vegetation, weed wacking a grassy section, freshen the blazes and reset a directional signpost.
Please join us so we can accomplish as much as possible in preparation of next years 250th Celebration of Arnold’s March to Quebec.
Please bring gloves and loppers and a heavy duty weed wacker/brush saw if available.
Might need a screw gun a chainsaw and a post hole digger also.
Also, drinks and a bag lunch.
If you have questions about the days activities please email Bob bobdoorguy@gmail.com or Norm pondstream@yahoo.com.
Work assignments and crews members will be decided depending on how many people show up. Hope to see you there.
